The Eighth Annual Adolf & Sara van der Walde-Rosenbloum Music Festival:

“GOOD FOR THE SOUL”

JOSHUA NELSON
The Prince of Kosher Gospel

Sunday, March 14, 2010 at 7:00 p.m.

Help us celebrate the Golden Anniversary of the Kentucky Commission on Human Rights by welcoming a man whose voice channels Mahalia Jackson’s, a fan base that includes Oprah Winfrey and a body of work that marries Jewish liturgical music to songs sung by African slaves. Joshua Nelson has sung with Wynton Marsalis, Aretha Franklin, Cab Calloway, Dizzy Gillespie and has even made a CD with one of the most innovative Jewish bands of our time, the Klezmatics. Hear Jewish music in a way you’ve never heard it before!

OTHER FEATURED PERFORMERS:

West Louisville Boys and Girls Choir  · Cantor David Lipp · Cantor Sharon Hordes · Community Junior and Adult Choirs

Bring ticket from the Music Festival to receive free admission to 92nd Street Y Matisyahu program on Tuesday, March 16th at 8:00 p.m.
